Inspired by Homestuck, and particularly the Sburb Glitch FAQ fanfiction, Homeward is a LUMEN rpg wherein players are ripped from their lives into a magical universe, wherein they fight to attain the Ultimate Reward of creating a new universe or reviving their own. But along the way, they'll be forced to constantly battle with a role in this new Game which conflicts with some aspect of themself, and the sadistic game's attempts to force them to 'mature' into the version of themself it believes is best, or die trying.

Kids and fun!

Currently, the game is a Work in Progress, but fully playable. Upcoming features will be:

  • 23 playable Remnants (3 of which are currently available).
  • A full list of Powers and their upgrades and costs.
  • Example Dungeons of all three types.

This version of the game lacks much formatting, it is by and large simply a word document. As such, one of the first priorities with this release is to get the money needed to pretty it up with artwork and a proper layout. However, even after this has been accomplished, the raw version of the game will always be available for cheaper than the fully formatted one.

Made for the Lumen Jam 2.

This game is Illuminated by LUMEN, based on the LUMEN RPG system designed by Spencer Campbell, Gila RPGs. This game is in no way affiliated with Spencer Campbell or Gila RPGs.

Community Copies

I get it, not everyone can afford this. And even if you can, you might not trust me, or feel that it's worth spending your money on this without knowing what you're getting into. And that's totally reasonable! Lords know I've been in that same position so many times. So of course, there are community copies. For every purchase of Homeward, I will throw in a free community copy.

Additionally, for those of you who have the money and are particularly generous, every $5 dollars above the base price of the game you buy at, I will throw in one extra community copy.
